Several controlled human studies have shown that shilajit can significantly increase total testosterone and free testosterone levels, the latter of which is the “biologically useful” form of testosterone.⁸ One recent clinical trial even found that healthy adult males given a purified shilajit supplement for 90 days experienced nearly 50% greater increases in free testosterone levels than those who were in the placebo group⁹.

Quercetin is a secondary plant metabolite (polyphenol) found in a range of fruits and vegetables. It’s a vital micronutrient that serves antioxidant roles in many important body systems, particularly the cardiovascular system and reproductive system.¹⁰ Several murine studies suggest that quercetin protects Leydig cells — the cells that comprise testicular tissue — from toxin-induced damage, thereby preserving testosterone levels and fertility^11,12.

3,3′-diindolylmethane (DIM) is a bioactive metabolite of indole-3-carbinol (I3C), a phytochemical found in cruciferous vegetables like cabbage, broccoli, and cauliflower. DIM appears to regulate estrogen metabolism by selectively modulating the aryl-hydrocarbon receptor, which plays an important role in gene expression in both men and women.¹³ In vivo and in vitro data suggest that DIM has favorable effects on muscle growth, recovery, libido, mood, and overall well-being by balancing estradiol levels^14,15

Eurycoma longifolia, commonly referred to as Tongkat ali or Longjack, has been used for centuries in folk medicine as a natural aphrodisiac and appetite-stimulating herb. The roots of this plant contain a range of compounds called quassinoids, the most noteworthy being eurycomanone.
